Africa Study Bible

The Africa Study Bible is the first full Study Bible with notes written by Africans, for Africans. It was began after several years of consultation with African Christians, pastors and theologians who see the critical need to make Scripture relevant to the everyday lives of their people. With over 350 contributors from 50 nations who have written the over 2,600 features that concentrate on understanding and applying God’s word in the African context, the ASB is truly “GOD’S WORD THROUGH AFRICAN EYES”.

My Experience

One of the scariest mentorship exposures I have done is praying at the launch of the Africa Study Bible in 2017. I had been with my mom the day before the launch, to help her and other team members in the setup of the hall at Radissun Blu. My parents go with me to all places they go, and I appreciate the exposure. So everything was set, and I had planned to have a very good time on the launch day helping to sell the Bibles the following day.

When we got there on the morning of the launch, my mom called me aside to tell me that I had been picked to pray together with the other pastors. I am not a pastor! The truth is, from that moment until the time for the prayer, I was pacing up and down the hotel. I was so nervous I thought I was going to lose my mind. I was going to pray in front of over 300 guests, drawn from all over the world. These were some of the most senior people in the church community, senior pastors of big churches, CEOs of large organizations.

I did pray, and it went very well. After that, I was able to relax and even enjoy the meals provided. Now I do not think many gatherings would make me as nervous – just a little!
